The Ultimate First Ascension Guide (365 HC)
Why 365 Heavenly Chips?
The number 365 isn't arbitrary. It's the exact amount needed to buy a specific set of "Heavenly Upgrades" that will make your second run significantly faster. If you ascend with only 1 or 10 chips, you won't have enough to buy the upgrades that matter, like the Permanent Upgrade Slot.
The 365 HC Buy List:
- Legacy (1 HC): Unlocks the prestige system and allows you to earn heavenly chips in future runs.
- Heavenly Cookies (3 HC): A permanent +10% boost to your CpS.
- How to Bake Your Dragon (9 HC): Unlocks the Krumblor egg, which eventually gives you massive auras.
- Permanent Upgrade Slot I (100 HC): The most important buy. Allows you to keep your best upgrade (usually your highest Kitten) across resets.
- Heavenly Luck (77 HC): Golden cookies appear 5% more often.
- Heralds (100 HC): Provides a CpS boost based on the number of people playing Cookie Clicker on Steam.
- Starter Kit (50 HC): You start with 10 free Cursors. Small, but helps the early-early game.
- Box of Brand Biscuits (25 HC): Unlocks several new cookie upgrades.
Preparing for Ascension
Before you hit that "Legacy" button, there are a few things you must do to maximize your gains:
- Sell Everything: If you have the Earth Shatterer dragon aura, sell all your buildings for a quick cookie boost. If not, only sell if you're close to another chip.
- Chocolate Egg Strategy: If it's Easter season, buy the Chocolate Egg ONLY after selling all your buildings. It gives you 5% of your current bank, which can often push you over the edge for another few chips.
- Check Your Achievements: Every achievement increases your milk, which boosts kittens. If you can snag a few easy ones (like "God Complex" by renaming your bakery to Orteil), do it now.
What to put in your Permanent Upgrade Slot?
For your very first ascension, you should put your **highest tier Kitten upgrade** in the slot. Kittens provide the largest multipliers in the game, and having one active from the very first second of your next run will allow you to breeze through the early game in minutes instead of hours.
