Stock Market Guide: Turning Goods into Cookies
The Resting Value
Every stock has a resting value — a price it naturally gravitates toward over time. The formula is:
Resting Value = $10 × (stock index + 1) + Bank Level - 1
The stock index starts at 0 for CRL (Cereals, linked to Farms) and goes up to 15 for LCH (Licorice, linked to Idleverse). So at Bank Lv.1, CRL has a resting value of $10, CHC has $20, BTR has $30, and so on up to LCH at $160.
Higher Bank levels increase all resting values by 1 per level. This means leveling your Bank with Sugar Lumps makes the Stock Market more profitable over time.

Brokers and Overhead
Every buy or sell transaction has an overhead cost of 20% by default. This means if you buy a stock at $10 and sell it at $20, you do not keep the full $10 profit — 20% is taken as overhead.
You can hire Brokers to reduce this overhead. Brokers require Grandmas to hire. At maximum brokers, the overhead is reduced to 5%. Getting to maximum brokers is essential for efficient profit — without them, the overhead eats too much of your gains.
Market Patterns
Each stock follows one of four market patterns at any given time:
- Stable: Small fluctuations around the resting value. Hard to profit from significantly.
- Slow Rise / Slow Fall: A gradual trend in one direction. Good for long-term holds.
- Fast Rise / Fast Fall: Sharp movements. Buy immediately when a Fast Fall starts from a low price; sell immediately when a Fast Rise starts from a high price.
- Chaotic: Unpredictable swings. High risk, but high profit potential if you time it well.
The Core Strategy
The most reliable approach is to watch for stocks that have dropped well below their resting value and are starting a Fast Rise pattern. The safe buy zone is roughly 50% of the resting value or lower. The safe sell zone is roughly 150% of the resting value or higher.
For example, at Bank Lv.1, CRL has a resting value of $10. A safe buy price is below $5, and a safe sell price is above $15. These are not hard rules — the market can go higher or lower — but they give you a consistent framework.
Do not try to time the exact top or bottom. The goal is consistent profit over many trades, not maximizing every single transaction.
The Achievements
The two Stock Market achievements are worth pursuing because they add to your milk:
- Liquid Assets: Earn $10 million in total profit.
- Gaseous Assets: Earn $31.5 million in total profit.
These are cumulative across your entire game, not per session. Consistent trading over time will get you there without needing to do anything special.
